Sonatas and Partitas for solo violin

TAMÁS FEJES was born into a family of musicians in Hungary, in Szeged.  At the age of 10 he won second prize in the ‘János Koncz’ national violin competition. He studied at Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest and while at the Academy he gave numerous recitals and had several appearances on Radio and TV.

After graduation he continued his studies at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London. Tamas lead and co-lead various orchestras in Germany and carried on giving recitals, concertos and chamber music concerts in the UK, Austria, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, USA and Hungary.  He was a member of the Philharmonia Orchestra in London. Currently he is the assistant leader of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and also a parttime tutor in the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

Since 2006 Tamas is a founder member of the Fejes Quartet with whom he regularly participated in several festivals in Hungary, France, Italy and Scotland among others. In 2011 they released their debut CD. In June 2014 they recorded Christopher Wright’s 4 string quartets for Nimbus which was released later that year to great critical acclaim.
